Job description

THE ROLE

The responsibility of a Manager of Contracts & Proposals is to lead the proposal development process for Phastar. Will oversee the creation of proposals in response to requests for proposals (RFPs), contracts, RFI’s, CO’s from potential clients or customers. They manage a team responsible for gathering information, writing, editing, and formatting proposals to ensure they meet the requirements and deadlines, and developing competitive budgets. Work closely with the commercial team, operations team and finance on developing proposals and managing contract processes. Developing a strategic long-term plan for the department for the future with Head of Sales Operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute the functional strategy and operational direction of the department in alignment with organizational goals, policies, and procedures.

  • Resolve complex issues through extensive investigation and analysis.

  • Influence and communicate with executive leadership to accept practices and approaches.

  • Lead contracts and proposals teams to ensure successful execution of all contracts and proposals.

  • Oversee the entire lifecycle of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with legal, finance, and other departments to develop contract templates, negotiate terms, and mitigate risks.

  • Develop and implement processes to streamline contract and proposal management, improving efficiency and accuracy.

  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to contracts and proposals, recommending improvements as necessary.

  • Coach and develop the team, setting and reviewing objectives.

  • Ensure timely management and compilation of specifications for proposals and contracts, including change orders.

  • Manage NDAs and legal compliance, compiling and updating information for pricing and sales contracts.

  • Participate in team meetings with sales, marketing, and operations to contribute and learn, ensuring thorough client understanding of work order proposals.

  • Accountable for quality and accuracy of all contracts and proposals prepared by and sent out from PHASTAR.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Lead the C&P team

  • Conflict management

  • Self-Organising

  • Nutures growth and development of team

  • Experience in CRO/pharma environment in a similar role

  • Legal / Financial understanding of proposals

  • An understanding and background in marketing, sales, business development, and clinical trial principles and processes
