About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire a love of music in young minds and contribute to a dynamic and engaging learning environment. You will be responsible for delivering stimulating Music lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students' musical talents, and developing their appreciation for diverse musical styles and traditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Music lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in line with the National Curriculum and the school's Christian ethos.
- Foster a creative and interactive learning environment, encouraging students to explore musical concepts through singing, playing instruments, composing, and listening.
- Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school's vision and the latest advancements in music education.
- Lead and conduct school ensembles, such as choirs, orchestras, and bands, providing opportunities for students to perform and develop their musical skills.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting teamwork and fostering a love of learning.
- Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings.
- Participate in whole-school events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified Music Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and developing their musical abilities.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for music, with a strong understanding of music theory, history, and a variety of musical styles and traditions.
- Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
