SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist School in Hammersmith

We are thrilled to offer an opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our team at a specialist school in Hammersmith. This rewarding position provides the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with a variety of learning needs within a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Role Overview:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play an essential role in supporting students with diverse learning needs, helping them engage with their education and develop vital skills. You will collaborate closely with teachers and other professionals to ensure that every child receives the support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.
  • Assist in delivering personalized lessons to help students access the curriculum.
  • Support the emotional and social development of students, fostering confidence and independence.
  • Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Track and report on student progress, offering constructive feedback to teachers and other professionals.
  • Help organize classroom resources and set up learning materials.

  • A genuine passion for working with students with special educational needs.
  • Previous experience in an educational or SEN setting is a plus, though not required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
