SENIOR ACCOUNT MANAGER/JUNIOR ACCOUNT DIRECTOR
Our Brands team at Sauce Communications are seeking a Senior Account Manager OR Junior Account Director to join their team on a permanent basis. The brands team look after key brands such as Woodford Reserve, Eataly, Diplomatico and Pasta Evangelists and this is an amazing opportunity to take the lead on media relations and client services for these and similar accounts.
We have a wonderful flexible hybrid working pattern, amazing benefits operating from our Shepherds Bush office Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday with work from home Monday and Friday.
We’re seeking a member to join our team with good people skills, strong writing ability and a keen interest in and understanding of the media landscape, including digital and social.
Senior Account Managers lead the Account Executives and deliver upon the execution of the strategies and activities as detailed by your Account Directors and HODs, ensuring that programmes and objectives are being adhered to, and that accounts are well organised; delivering excellent service to clients at all times.
Accountabilities
Direct reporting to: Account Director or Head of Brands.
Roles and Responsibilities
- As Account Manager or JAD you will drive day to day activity on client accounts – with direction and support from Account Directors.
- You are a capable and confident operator with a thorough understanding of the required media and communication skills and are fully cognisant of the tools available to deliver client Scope of Works and deliverables (KPIs) therein.
- Leading the Account Executives you will deliver the execution of the strategies and activities as detailed by your Account Directors and HODs, ensuring that programmes and objectives are being adhered to, and that accounts are well organised; delivering excellent service to clients at all times. Key responsibilities include the following:
- Thoroughly understanding your clients’ brand, products and services, and our respective Scope of Work (SOW) for each client
- Working collaboratively with your divisional and client teams to manage and support delivery of the best client service possible and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as denoted within respective SOWs
- Ensuring that you are working within your allocated hours per client and completing your hours tracker (Harvest) on a daily basis
- Overseeing eloquent, spell-checked and grammatically correct press releases for media distribution, and promotional copy for social media content
- Ensuring all activity is sufficiently targeted towards target audiences pertinent to each client
- Overseeing and maintenance of updated media lists
- Supporting and leading Account Executives and PR Assistants with their roles, tasks and responsibilities
- Ensuring regular correspondence with clients to execute account management – planning regular correspondence, meetings, updates as required
- Active input into creative execution and delivery of best practice to deliver excellent results
- Attendance and significant input at client / third party meetings
- Maintaining a set of valuable media contacts to support delivery of best coverage possible
- Support team and agency on new business research, brainstorms plus general pitch writing and presentation as required
- Attendance at and input into general company / division meetings as required \
Media Relations
- Serve as day-to-day contact with media and influencers on clients’ behalf
- Build and manage media lists for all announcements / events / campaigns
- Work with account teams to ensure media KPIs delivery, along with individual client teams
- Research, understand and anticipate media interests, needs and preferences, building relationships with journalists and influencers
- Continue to service press and contacts, developing understanding of their needs and specific interests
- Professionally and promptly handle and respond to incoming media enquiries
- Proactively place news and stories with target media relevant to client products and services – working to deliver coverage to meet KPIs
- Attend media meetings and networking events to further build contacts and beneficial relationships
- Confidently answer media questions and requests, coordinate requests for product and interviews and provide useful information.
- Thorough knowledge of target media, and sharing that knowledge with wider team
Qualifications & Experience
- Exposure to managing brands - think exciting drink & food brands.
- Enjoys business development and has strong pitching/presentation skills.
- Enjoys networking with Journalists and has a “go to Journalist database” and a portfolio of past coverage.
- Previous Public Relations or similar industry experience
