Our Indirect Procurement team is part of a global Procurement Function, strategically enabling Pernod Ricard to fulfil its ambitions. It supports Marketing, Commercial and Business Functions, procuring in services, product, partnerships/events, and media. In procuring the best goods and services, our team fuels growth, optimises cost, protects the business and drives sustainability, all to enhance business success. Based across the UK and Ireland our agile, collaborative team combine analytical expertise with strategic business insight to drive value and innovation.
About the role
We now have a key opportunity for an Indirect Procurement Senior Manager (Business Services) to join our UKI (UK & Ireland) Indirect Procurement team. This role will support Facilities Management; Professional services including Legal; Consulting; HR & Finance; T&E, Tech and Car Fleet, across the following Pernod Ricard business:
• Pernod Ricard UK ( London), markets, sells and distributes our products in the UK market
• Chivas Brothers (Scotland & London) the largest brand company in Pernod Ricard, responsible for the production and management of our award-winning Scotch whisky portfolio. Headquartered in London, in sustainable offices with “conviviality” at the core. We also have offices in Scotland and various distilleries and production sites across the UK from Plymouth to London to Speyside.
• Irish Distillers; (Dublin & Cork); With offices, production and distilleries from Dublin to Cork, Irish Distillers are makers of some of the world’s most well-known and successful Irish whiskeys including Jameson, a top 10 global spirit brand and Redbreast, the world’s most awarded pot still Irish whiskey.
Joining a newly formed UKI team of 8 colleagues, and reporting to the Indirect Procurement Director UK & Ireland (UKI), the purpose of this role is to execute, the Global and Local Procurement strategies for the Business Services category, underpinned by a robust roadmap to deliver against business ambitions. The Indirect Procurement Senior Manager will act as the key interface between Business functions and Procurement teams.
Your unique contribution
Strategy
• Responsible for a total spend of ~€100m across UKI Business Services categories
• Be an active leader in the Procurement transformation programme : drive transformation workstreams and business alignment, lead implementation of best practices, Procurement tools and processes.
• Responsible for developing and implementing Procurement strategies to maximize value in Procurement Business Services, in line with the global Procurement strategies, and UKI (UK and Ireland) local synergies and strategies
• Translate diversity and the S&R Global commitments into Procurement category objectives and requirements
Operational
• Lead Procurement operations for UKI Business Services and as part of the Proximity leadership team
• Ensure value maximization for Indirect Procurement along 3 lenses: Buy Better (leverage Pernod Ricard's scale & professionalize procurement practices), Spend Better (harmonize policies, processes and manage demand tightly), Track Better (spend performance, compliance, sustainability and diversity)
• For localized spend categories: implement category sourcing strategies, across UK and Ireland, lead commercial execution (negotiation, contractual and legal terms, regulatory compliance) and monitor supplier long-term. Collaborate local Business Services business teams to understand their indirect spending needs and align Procurement strategies accordingly.
• For Global spend categories: support Global Procurement on the discovery, market review process and the contract implementation
• Governance: ensure compliance with Procurement policies and procedures against legislation and mitigation of risks
Performance & team management
• Set KPIs and targets to measure the indirect procurement contribution to PR performance
• Build a team of exceptionally skilled individuals starting with 2 direct reports (Senior Buyer in Ireland and a Senior Buyer in the UK) fostering dynamic career trajectories and a culture of excellence
• Drive efficiency and effectiveness in Indirect Spend management to increase ROI and optimize the supplier roster
• Provide Management with reports, as requested, including but not limited to summarising key activities and issues, governance, S&R savings, and improvements achieved
