Job description

Head of Data Architecture and Engineering will lead overall organisational data & analytics strategy definition, roadmap and execution and will work closely with other divisions to ensure effective cross-divisional analytics & reporting. This is a wide-ranging role that involves collaboration with many different parts of Hyperoptic and will play key part in building's Hyperoptic's data enabled future and system architecture. It is critical for this role to lead on implementation of best practices where needed and also continuous improvements aligned with Hyperoptic KPIs and value streams.

 What will you be doing? 

  • Lead the teams responsible for data and reporting.

  • Fully own the management of all data sources, incl. data validation, maintenance of the golden source throughout its lifetime and establishing responsibilities of data management tasks.

  • Lead the design, development, and management of a single source/DWH solution, ensuring a logical data model standard.

  • Lead supplier selection processes and RFP activities

  • Design, develop, optimize and oversee conceptual and logical enterprise data model.

  • Apply the data model to inform new system design using sound business judgement.

  • Work closely with the business data governance function to implement technical controls and governance features.

What we are looking for: 

  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise DWH architecture

  • Proven experience of defining and implementing an enterprise data strategy

  • Extensive experience in data modelling and DWH design principles.  Apply industry best practices to solve complex problems

  • Proven experience implementing complex ETL processes from various data sources

  • Understanding value levers and be able to translate KPIs to business activity

  • Familiar with cloud data platforms (Google Big Query, Amazon Redshift, Microsoft Azure Synapse) and integration tools

  • Strong leadership skills to be able to lead the business through change

  • Previous Telecoms experience (Fibre Broadband a plus)

  • Experience in leveraging TMF standards for enterprise data model (e.g SID).
