About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young women to explore the fascinating world of religion and belief. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking Religious Studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students' understanding of different faiths and worldviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Religious Studies lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in line with the National Curriculum and the school's Christian ethos.
  • Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore religious and ethical issues with open minds and critical thinking skills.
  • Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school's vision and the latest advancements in religious education.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected, regardless of their own beliefs.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting intellectual curiosity and a respect for different faiths and cultures.
  • Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings.
  • Participate in whole-school events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified Religious Studies Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their understanding of religion and belief.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Religious Studies, with a strong understanding of different religious traditions, ethical issues, and philosophical perspectives.
  • Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • A willingness to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.
