The role

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to drive the product strategy for one of the UK’s most iconic brands. Launched in November 2022, ITVX combines AVOD, SVOD, Live, and FAST channels to deliver an innovative video-on-demand platform with a truly unique market proposition.

As Senior Product Manager for Live Video, you will play a key role in shaping the future of ITVX's video technology and experience. You’ll be working at the forefront of streaming innovation, collaborating with a dynamic team of tech professionals to design and deliver cutting-edge products that shape the future of digital video.

You will partner closely with the Product, Streaming Technology, Content Supply and Distribution and Platform Engineering teams, as well as key internal stakeholders from editorial, marketing, commercial advertising, and broadcast technology. Your role will focus on ensuring that ITVX’s live video delivery systems—across live simulcast and FAST channels —are at the forefront of quality and performance.

This role is heavily focused on the technical side of video streaming product management. You’ll be responsible for driving the scaling of ITVX ensuring it can cope with ever growing demand for IP delivered viewing, maximising the profitability of our live streams through improving digital advertising capacity and reducing cost to serve, and ensuring a seamless, high-quality end-to-end experience for viewers.

The video experience is central to ITVX, with viewers spending more than 90% of their time within the video environment. Your goal will be to continually enhance this experience, growing the live streaming capability to be fit for the UK’s increasing mass adoption of IP streaming as its preferred method of viewing video - including ensuring necessary performance for some of the biggest moments in UK viewing; from reality and entertainment such as Love Island and I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here to major sporting events including the men’s FIFA World Cup 2026.

By joining us, you will contribute to ITVX’s broader vision of delivering the best video streaming experience across all devices, platforms, and content types. This includes leading the technical evolution of the live video experience. You will also help identify the key features and product enhancements that will engage viewers, improve retention, increase watch time, and drive innovation in video consumption.

The role will entail but not be limited to:

Lead Product Roadmaps: Define and drive the short and medium term deliverables for ITVX's Simulcast and FAST video experience through initiative scoping, goal setting and prioritisation. Focusing on product innovation, technology optimisation, monetisation and user engagement.
Drive Technical Excellence: Work closely with Streaming Technology, Platform Engineering, and Broadcast Technology teams to ensure that all live video experiences (Simulcast and FAST channels) are seamlessly integrated and perform at the highest technical standards across the entirety of the ITVX device portfolio.
Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Driving a small team forward to produce results that are both step-change and incremental in nature, within a scrum framework. Partner with commercial, advertising, distribution and technology stakeholders to ensure the video product is aligned with the overall ITVX brand vision and delivers exceptional experiences for users across multiple platforms. Work closely with 3rd party suppliers to drive deliverables.
Maximise User Engagement: Identify and prioritise features that improve stream quality and performance, and viewer experience. Focus on minimising friction points in the video journey, enhancing retention of viewers, and driving user engagement through innovation.
Ensure Scalability & Reliability: Own the scalability, reliability, and performance of the video infrastructure across various video delivery methods. Ensure that the technical architecture supports high-quality, on-demand, and live streaming experiences for millions of users.
Focus on Data-Driven Decision-Making: Leverage data and insights from user behaviour and technical performance to continuously refine and improve the video product. Use analytics to identify and address pain points in the viewer experience and propose the most efficient method of tackling them.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

Market and Technical Acumen in Streaming Technology: Strong understanding of the UK’s streaming market and of streaming protocols, video compression, content delivery networks (CDNs), IP video delivery, and video infrastructure. Experience with live event streaming is highly desirable.
User-Centric Mindset: A deep understanding of how technology influences the viewer experience, combined with a focus on product features that delight users and encourage engagement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Experience working closely with engineering, tech, and content teams to drive change and deliver complex, high-quality video products that meet both business and user needs. Focusing both of ‘what’ is delivered and ‘how’ it is delivered.
Data-Driven Decision Maker: Ability to use user and technical data to inform decisions, optimise the product, and deliver measurable outcomes for business growth and viewer satisfaction. Comfortable working with ambiguity to provide a way forward for ITV.
Prioritisation and Efficiency: Ability to prioritise a complex roadmap with clear rationale and easily explain trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Focusing on delivering maximum output for minimal effort to help ITVX punch above its weight in an incredibly competitive UK market.
