The Role:

  • Full-time, permanent position
  • Teach Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on your experience and the school's curriculum.
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a range of learning styles and abilities
  • Inspire students to develop a lifelong love of drama and theatre
  • Contribute to the development and enrichment of the Drama curriculum
  • Direct and produce school productions, showcasing student talent
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and supported
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the Drama department and across the wider school community, particularly with Music and English departments.
  • Participate in departmental and whole-school initiatives, including theatre trips, workshops, and festivals.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Possesses a strong background in Drama, with a relevant degree from a reputable university or drama school
  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Demonstrates a proven track record of successful Drama teaching in a secondary school setting
  • Is an enthusiastic and engaging educator with a genuine passion for Drama and a desire to inspire young minds
  • Has excellent subject knowledge across all key stages, including acting, directing, and theatre history
  • Is committed to fostering a love of learning and promoting creativity and confidence in all students
  • Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills
  • Is a reflective practitioner who is committed to continuous professional development
