Ribbons & Reeves are delighted to be working with an Outstanding Primary School in Hammersmith & Fulham, recruiting a dedicated graduate to join their team as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) from January 2025. This role is an excellent opportunity to develop your teaching skills and build the foundation for a successful career in education.

HLTA – Role Overview

• Position: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
• Salary: £24,254 - £35,081 (dependent on experience)
• Start Date: January 2025, continuing until July 2025
• Location: Hammersmith & Fulham, within an Outstanding-rated Primary School
• Development: Comprehensive training, CPD opportunities, and hands-on teaching experience to prepare for teacher training in September 2025.

Candidate Criteria:

• A First-Class or Upper Second-Class (2:1) degree in any discipline from a top UK university.
• Previous experience working with children in any capacity (e.g., tutoring, volunteering, childcare).
• A genuine passion for teaching and supporting young learners.
• Strong academic background, including excellent GCSE and A-Level results.
• The confidence to lead small group sessions and occasionally cover lessons independently.

Role Responsibilities:

As an HLTA, you will:

• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
• Lead small group interventions and support pupils on a 1:1 basis where required.
• Take responsibility for planning and delivering activities during teacher absence.
• Play a key role in supporting children’s academic progress and emotional development.
• Gain practical classroom experience while developing essential skills for your teaching career.

This HLTA position is perfectly suited to an aspiring Primary Teacher who is eager to gain hands-on experience before embarking on a PGCE or teacher training programme in September 2025. You will work closely with experienced educators in a nurturing environment, receiving the guidance and support you need to excel in your future teaching career.
